Bluetooth Technology Alliance ( SIG ) said Tuesday (April 20, 2010 ), Bluetooth 4 specification has been basically formed, is expected in the second quarter of this year.
Bluetooth 4 consists of three sub standard, namely traditional Bluetooth technology, high speed and blue tooth and new Bluetooth low energy technology. Bluetooth 4 improvement is mainly reflected in three aspects, battery life, energy saving and equipment types.
With low cost, cross vendor interoperability, Bluetooth Keyboard 3 ms latency, more than 100 meters long distance, AES-128 encryption and other characteristics
In addition, Bluetooth 4 effective transmission distance is improved. Current, Bluetooth and the effective transmission distance of 10 meters ( about 32 feet ), and Bluetooth 4 effective transmission distance can reach 100 meters ( about 328 feet).
SIG said, Bluetooth 4 complete specification will be completed in June 30th of this year, but based on Bluetooth device is expected to end in 4 or early 2011 listed.
